Does the Huawei Mate 40 Pro support eSIM?

Good news: the Huawei Mate 40 Pro supports eSIM. Add a Quibity eSIM next to your usual SIM and avoid high roaming charges when you travel.

  • The phone must be unlocked: a carrier-locked phone cannot add a new eSIM.

Good to know

  • Huawei P40 Pro+ and P50 are NOT compatible.

Model codes

The same phone is sold under different model codes. You find yours in Settings, About phone.

  • Mate 40 Pro eSIM supported
Some Huawei models support eSIM.
To check directly on your phone, go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management.

If the device is single-SIM, you will see two options: SIM 1 and SIM 2.
By default, the eSIM is installed in the SIM 2 slot.

If your device is dual-SIM and a physical SIM card is already inserted in the SIM 2 slot, you will be asked to deactivate SIM 2 when adding an eSIM.

Inserting or removing the SIM 2 card does not affect eSIM services.
